DanceSport Miri will be organizing its annual dinner and dance with the objectives of Charity, presentation of the certificates and medals to the successful candidates who took the dance examination in September 2009 and performances. Book your date: 11th December 2009. Venue: East Wood Valley Restaurant. Time: 7:00pm. Tickets are sold at RM60 and RM100 per pax.

Performance on November 21

November 21 2009 was Sin Chew Daily carnival day. It is an annual event. Hilltop DanceSport Club was invited to perform on the day at the Dewan Suarah (Community Hall), Miri. We were allocated 15 minutes for the performance. 3 performances was presented. Two couples presented Waltz. The couples were then joined in by another two couples to perform Latin Cha Cha Cha. Finally eight more members joined in to perform a line dance.

Dance Sports Miri Examination

On the 7th September 2009, about 37 students from DanceSport Miri took the test conducted by David Roberts, the Examiner from UKA. Out from the 37 students, there were 16 from the Hilltop DanceSport Club, Miri, taking line dances, ballroom and Latin American dances categories.

Our Instructor, Mr. Su also took his Licentiate examination and we were told that he did very well.

The humble beginning

When the Hilltop DanceSport, Miri was set up on 1st May 2002, their practice venue was by the road side car parks. It was in 2004 when they have a decent venue at the DanceSport Miri Studio under the instruction of Mr. Su Chi Leong, the dance instructor.
